To all the bakers out there, I need any tips you may have.
I will be making DS's bday cake this week (a frog) and will be decorating with a star tip (wilton triple and size 18).
I have only ever made buttercream icing using only butter, not shortening. But also have never needed it to be a decorating consistency.
Do I really need to use shortening in my recipe as well? Does it change the taste too much? Any awesome recipes beyond your typical buttercream?
