Talk to me about shoes, should LO be in them already?

How many of you are putting shoes on your LO?s on a daily basis, meaning more than just for the cuteness of them?  Jacob will be 10 months this Friday and is constantly standing by pulling up on things, is this the time to start putting shoes on him?  What first shoes did you pick and why. Thanks!
