I was looking up the risks of propellant in food, to get some ammunition to get my MIL to stop buying pancake batter from a can. We're not in space, no need to propel food from a pressurized container! I knew nothing about it, but intuition told me in ain't kosher. So the stuff is definitely not good for you and I will probably stop using PAM spray too.
My late night research lead me to freak out about my non-stick pans as well. Teflon is carcinogenic when heated to 500 degrees. Never realized this, nor did I care. Now that DS is eating with us I would like a healthier option.
My question is for you ladies who already switched to a diffrent kind of pan. What are you using instead and do you like it? I would like to replace my pans with something that won't cost more then $250...and the food preferably won't stick. Any recommendations?
