S/O time outs...

So how do you 'discipline' your toddler? I basically try to say 'no' and redirect... but I'm not sure it really gets through to DD. For example... DD is teething like crazy right now..and she bites! HARD! So... I'll say "Ow.. No Bite" and try to give her something else to do.... But now... 90% of the time she bites she says "No bite" before or after she does it! So... now what? I also tried to pretend crying saying that it hurt Mommy... but she thinks that's hysterical. Any advice?
