Anyone's kid not have a favorite lovey or toy?

My kid doesn't have a favorite toy or stuffed animal.  He has no interest in the loveys.  Is this normal or should he have a favorite something by now?  The only thing he really needs to go to sleep is the pacifier.  He has to have it in his hand or in his mouth if he wakes up.
