1st birthday party (how many people)

How many people are you inviting?  I can either just have 1 party and only invite the core family which will be about 10 people total or I can have 2 parties, the other inviting all his cousins which would be about 20-25 people.   I'm torn because I want the party to be about him and not everybody else.  But I know people are exctied to give him gifts and stuff.  I just feel if I throw the big party, it will be mostly for the other kids since he is too young to even care.
