a question about linen

I just bought a linen suit this weekend (for interviews, etc). I got a great deal on it-- pant, jacket, and dress all for 65 bucks instead of the retail price of 245.

Anyway, I had to go up two sizes from my jean size! I expected to go up one, but two seemed crazy. Is it me, the brand, or just the fact that it's linen?

Do you have to go up a size or two in linen?

Plus a trivia question! What is linen made from? (this was a huge debate between some college roomates a few years ago)
