Sleep issues

Well it's not so much an issue for DS, but it is for me. I posted the other day about DS wanting to lay on me or in my arms all night or else he wont sleep. He sleeps in his crib for naps. He also starts in his crib at night and last about 3 hours... as soon as he cries we pull him in bed with us. I need more advice, I am just not comfortable with the CIO method. DS wails and wails and it breaks my heart. Plus I can't sleep knowing that he's screaming his head off. Anyone please, any ideas that don't involve leaving him to cry?!
