Blood blister on nipple

This morning I went to breastfeed my daughter and as soon as she latched on, kind of held my breath because it hurt.  She has her two bottom teeth and ther two top teeth now so sometimes her top teeth get in the way or she bites a little so I just figured it was that.  But when I was done breast feeding I noticed a blood blister on my nipple.  I've searched on the internet and some say that it could be from improper latching or friction.  My daughter is 11 months old so I wouldn't think it is improper latching.  Anyway, anyone else have this?  How long until it went away.  Anything I should do to treat it?  I'm nervous for the next feeding as I'm anticipating the pain again!
