Sleep Help...Please

Hi!

 My LO was doing really well putting himself to sleep but then we took a vacation where we really threw off his schedule and he slept in the bed with us so we had a major relapse.  No he will not go to sleep unless he is sleeping with me (we originally co-slept for a few months).  He is also waking up several times at night if we put him in his crib after he falls asleep and he wants to come in bed with me.  Should I try Freber at this age or is this to old to do cry it out?

 Has anyone had any recent success that they can share-please!  It's really hard for me to listen to him crying but if it will help I am willing to try it
