A Father's Day vent

Backstory: DH and his dad haven't always had the closest relationship, but they've always gotten along. When Gavin was born I thought he would be an on-hands Grandpa by the way he acted at the hospital. Well, he has not, and I've accepted it, and DH acts as though he has as well, but I know it bothers him.

 DH scored four tickets to a baseball game today, and invited his dad and two nephews. At the time he was supposed to be at our house he leaves him a voicemail saying he can't make it because he got caught up doing something with his gf. WTF! He doesn't have any kids with this woman, and he leaves his son hanging on Father's Day.

I know DH was really bothered by it, but he went to the game with his two nephews anyway. I wish my FIL was more involved in our lives, especially Gavin's. My dad passed away when I was eight years old, so FIL is his only biological grandpa. It makes me sad for DH and Gavin.
