Idea's for first birthday!

So I am starting the planning process for R's birthday. I know it will be a Hello Kitty themed party (which is her nursery theme as well). I also know that it will be a BBQ outside. However, I have no idea what to do with it. I have to find a different location than my house. This is because my Dad is flying out for her birthday. My Mom and Dad have been divorced since I was 12. They do not get along. So I need to find neutral ground. So any Ideas?
