How to make/let DSD feel involved?

We had originally hoped that the court date would be done and over before baby arrived.  Finally got a date after baby is born.  This brings me to my questions. 

1) How do I let DSD feel involved with baby when she lives in another state?

2) I thought about sending a big sister/back to school box,but I know whatever we send won't be good enough or even trashed.  Would you even worry about sending something?  

My ultimate goal is for her to feel loved and  that even though a baby is in the picture we haven't replaced her.
