First shoes for standing/walking recommendations!

I heard Robeez/Stride Rite are very good but they are kind of pricey (about $40.00) I meant pricey by comparison to Target shoes, other places.. Also I don't know for how long LO will actually wear them since the foot will grow so fast. Are they really worth it? Any recommendations of first shoes that you were happy with?
LO is not walking yet... He is standing.. trying to make steps with support. thanks!!!
