declawing a cat?? wwyd?? (nbr)

We have a kitten that I believe is about 4 months old. Will find out the age for sure on Sat at the vet. Obviously she is a little wild since she is still in the kitten stage. She loves to scratch everything, including out brand new sofa. We have tried everything we can think of to get her to stop and she wont. Now my husband is saying he is worried that she is going to hurt DS. He says to declaw or she is gone. I really do not want to get rid of her but I am afraid of declawing her. I have read about the laser declawing, and that it is supposed to be the best way to go. What would you do in my situation?
