Cleaning toys

I know this has been discussed before, but I don't remember.  What do you about cloth toys that say not to immerse in water or wash in the washing machine?  How would you disinfect those?  I'm going through the box of G's old baby toys and don't know how to clean them for baby sister.

Also - how do you clean foam letters that are made for the bathtub?  I noticed tonight some spots on a few of Gavin's that are looking like mold.  I threw them out, but how would I clean the rest?  Or should I just toss them all?
