Wierd news story

This is just wierd.  Can't imagine any of the people involved in this one are the brightest bulbs in the box.

Canandaigua (WSYR-TV) ? A Canandaigua man went from a multi-million dollar vacation home to jail on Tuesday. According to State Police, 18-year-old Todd Blauvelt convinced his girlfriend and her family that he had inherited the lake house from a deceased grandfather and invited them to move into it.

Within an hour, the homeowner found the family and called the police. Shortly after that, Blauvelt was taken into custody.

Blauvelt was charged with felony burglary. He was also charged with punishable false written statement ? a misdemeanor - when he provided police with the fictitious inheritance story on a signed deposition.

Blauvelt was arraigned in Town of Bristol Court and sent to Ontario County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

Neither the girlfriend nor her family members were charged with any crimes.
