Back from first appt and worried

I had my first app today and as I expected I have high blood pressure and now I have to take meds.  I was really hoping I wouldn't have to but they want me to have a normal bp so they'll know down the line if I get pre-eclampsia and it's not just my chronic HBP.  This scares me, I hate taking drugs and there really isn't a study done on this one for the effects, I'm sure my Dr see's plenty of women in my condition and knows what is best.  Now I will have to be monitored more closely.  I'm not consider High Risk but I'm a Higher Risk than someone with normal BP.  Now I'm also worried about the extra bills well have.  I'm not sure what is and isn't cover yet.  But every thing else seems fine, from my first  b/w and urine tests.  I go back in two weeks for an U/S and results from this b/w.
