Why do they make little girls' shorts so skimpy?!

The sizing is seriously ridiculous. Today Liana is wearing shorts that are a 2t and they fit her perfectly. I know part of that is the fluffy butt (cloth diapers), but even in sposies, there is no way these would have fit Zoey last summer. And Zoey has on hand-me-down shorts from her cousin that are a size 6! They are a little baggy, but dont look huge on her or anything. There is no way I would be putting them on a six year old.

I hate that this is the way they make little girls' clothing. I know that I am not the only one that doesn't feel the need to put these teeny tiny shorts on my baby/toddler.
