CIO at 10 months?

Wondering if it is too late to start CIO with LO at 10 months. Like others have said, he has the stamina to cry for hours now if I were to let him. Would the NCSS be a better solution?

We are currently waking anywhere from 5-12 times a night. He falls asleep great on his own, but during the night needs me to go in and give him his pacifier. This process, while only taking 30 seconds at most, is tiring.

My pedi does not want me to take the pacifier away at this time, but I don't see how it is helping us. He only uses it while sleeping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
