Hates his high chair

My son hates sitting in his high chair. He likes solid foods and eats really well when he's anywhere besides his chair. But, as soon as we strap him in, he eats like 4 pieces of food and wants to get out. I'm sure he's just more interested in playing right now, but I feel like we're becoming behind in his solid food intake. We sit down to dinner at the table evrey night as a family, and I really would like DS to be there with us. I don't really want to start a bad habit of feeding him while playing/in the tub/while we're out/etc. if possible. Any advice? Thanks, y'all!
