Berries - why to avoid?

On the list my pedi gave at C's 6 month appt, she mentioned to avoid berries (strawberry, raspberry, etc). Does anyone know a reason for this? Just wondering if this is an allergy concern, or what? At the time I didn't really think anything of it, but now that berry season is upon us, I'm thinking those are some of my favorite foods and it's the best time for them.
