toothbrushing help

June 2011 in Babies: 9 - 12 Months

We've really been trying to brush our LOs teeth nightly and in the morning and he even enjoys holding the toothbrush (he smiles when we get it out) and rubs it on his lower teeth/gums. But, we can never get the top teeth and gums (he squirms and fights us on it). I want to get his teeth brushed, but I'm also fearful of turning into a negative routine. Any pointers? We've tried a washcloth before, but that was even worse (which is why we moved to the toothbrush).
