My dd is outgrowing her Graco snugride what is the next best car seat?

Dd is on the bigger side ( 95% in height and 85% in weight) and has outgrown her Graco snugride. We need to buy a carseat soon.  What is a really good one that wont break the bank?   Now I also read somewhere that they should still be rear facing till they are older does this make a difference with what car seat I should invest in?
