Toddler Bed?

One of my friends had a baby boy 2 weeks before my DD was born.  She just posted on Facebook that she moved her LO (1 year old) to his "big boy toddler bed" last night.  I wasn't planning on moving my DD to her toddler bed for quite some time, she seems to little yet, she'd be into everything, getting out constantly and potentially hurting herself even though she's a pro at getting off the couch.  I was thinking 18 months - 2 years I'd move her. Is that too late? Should I be moving her sooner? When do you plan to move your LO to a toddler bed?
