So Perry signed his ultrasound/description bill into law.  Someone on the political board stole this comment about it from another site:

­At the same time, the Texas legislatur­e is voting to gut public school financing, thereby demonstrat­ing a remarkable lack of concern for the children that are indisputab­ly present in the here-and-n­ow. I suggest the legislatur­e consider a bill requiring its members to examine a living child and have that child's developmen­tal needs explained to them before being allowed to vote on any bill imperiling public school finance.
