not to run into the street?

 DD knows shes not supposed to go in the street. She'll give me this look like "see me mom?!" and bolt into the street. It drives me nuts!  We started a few weeks ago that any time she does it, we immediately bring her inside and she doesnt get to go back out. It doesnt seem to matter to her. Today was the first time she cried when we brought her in. And she knows why...she'll say "street" after and shake her head  no. But she still does it. Anyone else have any other ideas?
