teething concern/?

My LG has been chewing on everything, including me, the last few days (more than normal).  Today I decided to look and see if she was getting another tooth.  I discovered a pretty red and swollen gum that was black at the tip at the site of her molar.  EWWW!

I know the redness and swelling is normal.  How about the black????  This concerns me.

I don't want to call the on-call dr. but will probably worry until I get an answer.  Anyone have any experience with this?
