Starting sleep training this weekend

DD is a horrible sleeper, sometimes up 8 times a night. I really never wanted to let her cry but at this point I think it is the right decision for us. So, we'll be spending our long weekend (Victoria day in Canada) blurry eyed. Starting tomorrow night, we are on the Ferber plan.

Any last minute advice/ words of wisdom?
