At what age do/did you take your LO to the dentist?

Any suggestion on how to brush LO's teeth? She just bites the tooth brush and I know I'm not getting her teeth very clean! She ends up getting really upset and I don't want her to think of toothbrushing as a negative. She just has her front teeth now and it's just going to get harder once she gets her molars. Help!

There was a previous post about bad foods for children to eat (raisins being one of them). Is there a list somewhere or do you know of things to avoid beside the obvious candy and sugary items? I would have never thought of raisins being bad for their teeth.
