Anyone use a chiropractor?

My back and hip are steadily getting worse, and it's getting harder and harder to walk.  Poor Rosie wanted to take a walk outside today, and I could only manage about a block before we had to turn around and go home because I just couldn't do it.

I'm thinking about visiting a chiropractor, but I have no idea if they would be able to help.  Has anyone gone to one and had a good experience?  (I'm a little skeptical of them, even though I have two close family members who are chiropractors!)
