XP: wwyd- shelving for LO's room

I am at a complete loss. LO's room is small and DW and I have decided not to put a glider in there for that reason.

That being said we still need some shelves for her room to put things like books, stuffed animals and eventually toys.

Would you ladies do wall shelves( floating shelves) or more of a unit. The only problem with a unit is that the ones I find that I like are either way to big for the room or not the right colors ( we need dark cherry wood )
