WWYD: We got a very nice gift for Max

5 outfits, socks, blankets, etc.  We like all of it, but it reeks of smoke.   The person who gave it to us smokes, but seriously everything smells like she locked herself in a room and smoked a pack of cigarettes while she wrapped it.  We are thinking of just returning it all (but we don't have a receipt, the tags are on everything) and buying the same stuff.  Or we could try and wash it all, but are worried that the smell won't come out. 

So what would you do, return and rebuy or risk keeping it and try and wash the smell out?
