Ex trying to bribe me

The ex called me 2 days ago and at first i thought he as calling because he had finally come to terms with the pregnancy, but that was clearly not the case.

He tried to bribe me into an abortion. He didn't bribe me directly but pledged to donate a very large amount of money to an orphanage, pay for and adoption and help financially maintain an adopted child. As long as i had an abortion.

Just don't understand what's going on through his mind right now or how he would suggest such convoluted things. This is not the man i knew for so many years

 I simply told him "i think you know my answer. i love you and you need to come to terms with this, let me know when you do"  then hung up the phone

 I've already come to terms with doing this alone, but that call let me see how much i wanted him to change his mind and how little hope i have that he will  

 Anyone else got weird convoluted suggestions from the ex?
