Wedding attire for G

We have a wedding in Florida next month that we're going to.  Obviously it's going to be warm/borderline hot there.  What would you think is appropriate for Gavin to wear?  It's a lunchtime wedding, reception following, everything should be over by 4pm they tell us, so not very formal I'm assuming.  I'm thinking shorts and a sweater vest maybe???  I'm really concerned about shoes.  He's so picky and will not wear sandals!
