So we are considering closing the school for two days, just so all the kids can be home and their family can make sure to check up on them. This bug made Maria go from headache to brain dead in 24 hours. We are trying to be cautious.

As the administrators of the school we made the call, then the director called and said that it would cause unneccesary panic in he community. So we were overridden. Dh said ok but said that I will not be at school tomorrow. (A couple of months ago there was a meningitis outbreak, I am allergic to all antibiotics the dr. said if I get it there would be NO treatment for me.)

I feel guilty though that I would be the only staff member staying home. And the dr. said that there is no reason right now to close the school. If another student gets it then they may reevaluate. (shocking that one dying child if not enough for these freaking people!)
