Flying with the LO?

I live in TX and my family all lives in MA. My mom just flew back after staying with me for a month to help me out, but my dad, brothers, grandma (who cannot travel), etc. haven't met the LO yet so I was thinking of flying out there while I'm still on maternity leave. I'm thinking early May so LO will be just over 2 months old then. DH will still be in graduate school so it'd be just me and the baby.

I'm definitely flying non-stop even if I have to pay more. That's all I have planned so far. Do people with infants usually fly with them on their lap or bring a car seat? I'm flying JetBlue and I'm pretty sure they will let me bring a diaper bag, stroller and car seat without counting that as "baggage".

Anyone else thinking of flying or have flown yet that can offer some advice? Thanks!
