Heating pad while pg? And another question.

Soo.. my heating pad has been basically my best friend since my back has been hurting.. I was talking to the NP at my dr's office about it today.. and she said she doesn't recommend heating pads for pg patients.. but i could use a warm towel.. I really thought heating pads were A-OK as long as they weren't on your belly.  I guess if its really that bad its too late now because i've been using one for weeks and sometimes those heat wraps too.

She did write me a script for a maternity support brace thing.. she said it may or may not help.. but i figure it can't hurt.. I am assuming since she wrote a script for it that my insurance will likely cover some of it? Because otherwise why couldn't i just walk into the medical supply store and buy it? I hope they do because the ones that I looked at there were like $60..
