Swimmers.....swim wash for suits?

Maybe only Melissasue is a swimmer here, but I will ask anyway!

Should I be washing our swimsuits in something besides detergent? R's white rash guard top is yellowing from the chlorine (public pool at Y), and my brownish suit is fadding in spots too. They always get washed when we get home. His top actually whitens up nice when left in a sunny window for a few days. I can never get the chlorine smell out though.

I got a new suit and hope to keep in in better condition, and R's got a new set too. I have read to never use the spinners in the locker rooms and to rinse in cold water before wash. I see Amazon sells actual swim wash though. Reviews say it keeps the chlorine smell away and suits in better shape. It is pretty pricey though.

Thoughts?
