If you've knit your own longies...

How did you prep them before use? Do you felt them at all (just a little)? I've researched how to lanolize them... But there are still the tiny little holes (knit on US 5 needles, which is what the pattern called for). I don't want to felt them, but I'm afraid they'll leak?
