hostess gifts

We have a coed shower coming up. It is being hosted by 2 different couples, should the gifts be for couples? I know the guys haven't been very involved but I feel l ike we should probably include them in the gift part. So now, what's a good couples gift? We were thinking about just taking them out to dinner or somthing like along thise lines.
