self-feeding

The only thing DS will tolerate in his mouth besides his hands and oatmeal (and a few purees) is a biter biscuit.  But it has to be in his hand and he has to be doing it (I can't assist).  Anything else that goes near his mouth, including a spoon until he realizes what it is evokes lips pursed together as hard as possible and blood curdling screams.

Any suggestions?  I figured I'd bring it up with the therapists.  He's about 9months now and just doesn't want anything in his mouth.

It's giving more when you feel like giving up
