Spraying Soiled Diaper Question

We recenty added solids to LO's diet. I installed a diaper sprayer, but I'm not sure how much to spray. Am I just supposed to get the loose particles off, or is it supposed to be almost completely clean? Thanks.

Oh and we have one toilet that doesn't have a flexible water supply line, can i go to home depot and get the parts for one? Has anyone done this?
