when to start cd'ing?

I know this might sound weird, but I don't think I've got the hang of LO's schedule and raising a toddler enough to teach myself about cding too. So I thought I'd delay it a bit. When is a good time to start it? How does the sizing work on CDs? I've got two bum 3.0s but they seem so big right now for LO.

Is there any advice for starting slowly?
