Help -- leaking at waistband in AM

My almost 16 month old DS is in BG3.0s full time. Overnight, we use both inserts plus either a tri-folded prefold or a hemp insert at the back for extra absorbency. This has been fine for months, but this week he's had a damp waistband on his jammie pants when he wakes up in the morning. Doesn't seem to bother him (yet) but I'd really prefer to keep the pee in the diaper.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot or make suggestions for what I can do to avoid this? I'd prefer not to buy new diapers or covers if I can avoid it, but if that's what it takes I guess I'd do it.
