Don't really know how to feel

My boyfriend and I found out that we're having a girl a week ago and had been trying relentlessly to get ahold of his parents to tell them.

 But when he told his dad last night he told him that they weren't going to get to excited about it because he and I almost broke up due to his sister treating him like an abused dog and I finally got tired of it.

 I'm just a little bummed out that they're not getting excited because I don't see how it makes her any less his granddaughter.
