Another Crib Question

So DDs crib is the convertible kind, so our original plan was to just get another convertible for the next LO. But we were just checking out toddler beds and they are significantly cheaper. DD isn't nearly ready to move out of her crib yet but we can put this LO in the PnP until she is ready and they will be in our room for a while anyway.

WWYD buy the 200-300 convertible or  just buy an 80 toddler bed and keep baby in the PnP for a while?
