Cat/crib question

Hi, I've been lurking since November..I've found the information on these boards so helpful.  Some of you ladies on here are hilarious.  I like the support.

 Im a first time mom, and I'm 20 weeks.  My husband and I were looking for cribs today, and we were laughing at the thought of our cat jumping in the crib with the baby. Well, amused/concerned.  Then there's that old wives tale that my ***** mother keeps reminding me of every time I talk to her (she calls and every time asks if we got rid of our cat....moms just know how to push the ole buttons, don't they? Haha)
