How soon is too soon to pester? update

I'm still waiting to hear back from my OB about whether I am going in for a NST +/- an induction today. He had me text him at 8am when I hadn't heard from the hospital to say to come in. He replied he would talk to them and let me know. It is now 2.5h later. I am just not sure when would be reasonable to check in with him again, if at all.... I know Fri is his OR day so he could reasonably be in surgery and he tends to run 3-4h behind schedule at the best of times. Any thoughts? 

Update: well, I texted again an hour ago and now feel I am in a pickle as I haven't heard anything back. How long do I wait now? What do I do if it is 4pm and I have no weekend plan? I feel like I am being totally nutty here. His office secretaries won't be in today because it is his OR day. He isn't on call this weekend, so I don't know that I will be able to reach him after a certain point today. He was clear on Tues that if I hadn't delivered he would want a NST Sunday but it hasn't been set up....bah!!!!!
