XP: Question about betas

Hi guys! I've been lurking a bit and was trying to hold off on introductions until my betas were back.  I do, however, have a question about betas...

 I just got my first beta back - it was taken yesterday (a day before my missed AF) and the results are 49.  She said it was low - but then quickly added that was okay for how early it was.  They will take the second tomorrow and hopefully it doubles.  I was just wondering what the typical range for a first beta was? It makes me nervous she just added in the last bit...
